Alexander Has Arrived !!!!

Well look who finally showed up! As most of you can relate the first kid is very much anticipated. Jenny was getting pretty uncomfortable there at the end. We went to our regular doctor’s appt. on Valentines Day and the doctor told us that he wanted to see if they had a bed ready at the hospital (His way of telling us that he wanted to induce her a little early), to say the least we were both very shocked, he was not due until February 19th but we weren’t going to complain. I politely asked if we could wait until morning, I wanted to spare him the Valentines/Birthday combination if possible. So we were scheduled to arrive to the hospital at 7:30 am the following day.

So needless to say after 9.5 hours of laboring and only 30 minutes of pushing we had little Alexander Shawn Nageli in our arms (Named after his father and Alexander Graham Bell). He showed up on February 15th at 7:01 pm weighing 7 lbs. and 7 oz. and was 20 inches long. He has very long fingers and toes like his Dad and eyes like his Mom. We were very happy to have him arrive. We also had many excited family members anxiously waiting outside the delivery room. Something interesting that you should
know about is that Alex was born on the same day as his cousin Abby in the same hospital, same room (not previously requested), and weighed the exact same. Coincidence or Predetermined?
Who knows, only time will tell? Happy 3rd Birthday Abby!

Alex has been doing very well. He has been a real trooper since day one. We were able to leave the hospital on Sunday around 2:00 pm and bring him home. He has been adjusting to his new schedule and surroundings. We are excited to be new parents. Just as many of you know sleep has been a precious commodity which I was a little worried about before he came but the benefits have definitely outweighed the sleepless days and nights. He has definitely made a huge impact on our lives thus far and has made things a little more exciting around here like being peed on while changing a diaper; I guess I am just going to have to get a little faster when changing diapers.

So exciting to finally have him here, I'm sure. He is adorable and I bet you can't imagine life without him now. Aaron says it's now time to catch up...I'd say take your time. They are LOTS of work...but so much fun. Congrats and keep posting pictures on your blog...it's so great to keep in touch!
